Watch Noah Syndergaard Throw a Spear in 'Game of Thrones' Cameo

New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard had a cameo in Sunday's Game of Thrones episode 4, "The Spoils of War."

The pitcher played a Lannister soldier in the episode. He got to wear a suit of armor and even threw a spear during one of the series' signature battle scenes.

Unfortunately for Mets fans, this is the first time they've seen Syndergaard throw since April. The flamethrower and his 100-mph fastball have been on the disabled list with a torn lat muscle. Syndergaard is expected to return to the rotation before the end of the season.

Due to his injury, Syndergaard hasn't had to answer questions about a loss for a few months. That changed late Sunday night as word began to spread of his cameo.

Syndergaard's Lannister army got routed in the battle, and the pitched (who is one of the best Twitter follows in Major League Baseball), had an answer ready.

"To my side's defense...they had a fricken dragon!" he said.

"At least I didn't throw behind him," he added, referring to an incident last season in which he was ejected from a game versus the L.A. Dodgers.

Syndergaard filmed the scene during this past off season.
